Enjoyed them until #26!

I enjoyed the first 25, (Enigma Tree) and have even paid around $10 for coins to play -- its not necessary to pay, but I got tired of playing the brain teasers to collect enough coins! :/
But now, after starting the 1st one for Creepy Pumpkins story (#26), I get to the finish where the witch shows us the monster in the crystal ball who is hungry...and as the scene backs out from the crystal ball, the game crashes! Ive tried this over and over and over. Ive got more than enough HD space on my iPad Air 128gb, for virtual ram. I have no other apps running.

It makes no sense. I dont want to remove the app & reload it, for fear Ill lose all progress and would have to start the entire game over, back to chapter 1 of Enigma Tree!

I get confused on the iCloud backup. Would I be able to "save" my progress (having completed chapters 1-25) and then remove & reload the app? How would I get my progress back?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
